Aston Villa Coach Unai Emery explains how they secured a 1-0 victory against Chelsea in the EPL

In Sunday’s Premier League match against Chelsea, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery attributed his team’s 1-0 win to their competitive spirit and strong defensive performance.

According to NewsNow, Ollie Watkins scored the lone goal of the match in the second half, while Malo Gusto received a red card during the game at Stamford Bridge.

During the post-match press conference, Emery stated, “Winning here is not easy, and if the match had taken a different turn, we could have also lost. However, I’m pleased because we were highly competitive and solid defensively.”

He added, “Watkins puts in a great effort every day, practices with his teammates, and his dedication is outstanding. We will rely on his goals, just like we did today. Emiliano Martinez also had a fantastic performance.”

With this victory over Chelsea, Aston Villa now sits in sixth place with 12 points from six matches.
