The lifeless body of a woman who went missing from Florida has been discovered behind a fire department in South Carolina, far from her home.

Reports indicate that Sheridan Wahl disappeared after traveling to Myrtle Beach to visit her father last week. A search effort was initiated following a frantic Facebook post by her mother about her disappearance.

Kelly DeArment Wahl made an appeal on September 20:

“Please help me find my daughter. Last seen at 300 S. Ocean in Myrtle Beach. We haven’t heard from her since 1p and her phone is not picking up. She could have been driving back from Myrtle Beach to Tampa. Let me know if anyone has seen her. Otherwise please pray she comes home to us safely!”

Her body was found behind a fire station in Pamplico, SC, which is 50 miles west of Myrtle Beach on September 21. Her car, belonging to the 21-year-old college student from Tampa, was discovered burned and abandoned in a ditch in Scranton, S.C. two days before her body was found behind the Hannah-Salem Fire Department.

The sheriff’s office stated that the vehicle did not have its license plate and that the VIN was unreadable.

A separate incident report mentioned that Sheridan’s body was found with a brown hat and sunglasses behind the department’s training tower. Investigators suggested that her body had been there for some time, judging by the discoloration of her skin.

Her grieving mother paid tribute to her, stating:

“We are heartbroken beyond belief to share the news that our beloved Sheridan Lynne Wahl has passed. Sheridan was our cherished and loving daughter, sister, niece and friend. She will be missed more than words can ever express.”

Elizabeth Echenique, Sheridan’s roommate, expressed her thoughts on an online fundraising website, stating:

“She was an amazing musician and often enjoyed making music for fun and relaxation alone and with friends. She had a passion for fashion and prioritized her health. She was spontaneous and had a great sense of humor. So, what happened to this kind, loving, talented and beautiful young woman?”

Prior to her tragic passing, Sheridan was pursuing a marketing degree at the University of South Florida.
