Rapper Cardi B ordered to pause efforts to collect $3 Million owed from blogger Tasha K for spreading lies
The efforts by rapper Cardi B to collect $3 million from blogger Tasha K, who spread false information about her being involved in escort services, have reportedly been paused. According to court documents, a judge in Georgia ordered Cardi to halt her pursuit as Tasha K filed for bankruptcy. This decision puts all pending legal matters on hold until the bankruptcy case is resolved.
Earlier this year, Cardi B was granted $1 million in general damages and $250,000 for medical expenses, totaling $1.25 million. She was also awarded $1.5 million in punitive damages and an additional $1.3 million for attorney fees. The lawsuit accused Tasha of spreading lies about Cardi, including drug use and past involvement in escort services, which Cardi vehemently denied.
Cardi testified during the trial, stating that the situation caused her severe emotional distress and created issues in her marriage to Offset. Since the ruling, Cardi has been actively pursuing collection through subpoenas to Tasha’s bank and Google, where she earns money from her YouTube account.
However, Tasha filed for bankruptcy in Florida Court, listing her assets in the $50,000-$100,000 range and liabilities totaling between $1 million to $10 million. Her assets include a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, furniture, electronics, clothes, jewelry, and a checking account. Her largest debt is the $3 million owed to Cardi, with additional liabilities including car payments, IRS debts, credit card bills, and unpaid legal fees.
