Reports: Hakim Ziyech set to join Al-Nassr
It is reported that Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech is poised to move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr pending the completion of his medical at the club.
Ziyech is part of the latest wave of high-profile players heading to Saudi Arabia as Chelsea’s new manager Mauricio Pochettino plans a revamp of the squad this summer.
Negotiations between Chelsea and Al-Nassr have been successful, and it is understood that the player has agreed to personal terms for the move, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Moroccan star is said to have inked a three-year contract that will keep him at the Saudi Pro League side until 2026.
Ziyech joins a growing list of Premier League stars making the switch to Al-Nassr, with Cristiano Ronaldo being the first marquee signing for the Saudi top-flight in December, following the termination of his contract at Manchester United.
There has been a recent influx of European talents to the oil-rich nation, with former Real Madrid star and current Ballon d’Or holder Karim Benzema also moving in the same direction.
Ziyech becomes the third Chelsea player to make the move to Saudi Arabia this summer, following N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly’s departures from Stamford Bridge to clubs in the Kingdom.
The 30-year-old, who made 107 appearances and scored 14 goals in all competitions, was part of the Chelsea team that won the Champions League under former manager Thomas Tuchel.
It is anticipated that Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy could also make a move as he is reportedly close to joining Al Ahli.
