Stop labelling critics agents of opposition, Akande tells APC leaders
The Pioneer National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Chief Bisi Akande, cautioned against the practice of labeling members who have dissenting opinions on the party’s ideology or affairs as agents of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
During the public presentation of the book titled “APC and Transition Politics”, Akande emphasized the necessity for members to openly discuss the affairs of the APC within or outside the party. He humorously suggested that those who find it challenging to understand the language of the author, Malam Salihu Lukman, should consider writing their own books.
Akande stressed the importance of discussing the affairs of politics within or outside the APC to truly embody the party’s values. Meanwhile, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the current APC national chairman, highlighted the essential functions of a political party, emphasizing that the party, under his leadership, is meeting expectations.
Former National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole, appreciated the author for his courage, criticism, and progressive ideas but appealed to the former APC deputy chair to desist from taking party conflicts public. The event saw the presence of prominent political leaders including former APC national chairmen, Adams Oshiomhole and Chief Bisi Akande, the current party leader Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, his national Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, a representative of former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, former Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs Chief Sharon Ikeazor, and former presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu, among others.
