Palmer is best known as the founder and owner of the mining company Mineralogy. Additionally, he established the Palmer United Party and served as its Chairman from 2013 until 2017 when it was disbanded.

In 1984, he ventured into the mining industry by founding Mineralogy, which has since evolved into a mining conglomerate. The firm includes Palmer Nickel and Cobalt Refinery, as well as Queensland Nickel, which he acquired from BHP Billiton. However, the firm has faced a crisis since 2015 due to nickel’s price decline and questionable business decisions. In his personal life, Palmer has been married to Anna Topalov since 2007, and the couple has two children. Previously, he was married to Susan Palmer from 1983 until 2005 when she passed away. He also has two children with Susan.
Clive is known for his philanthropy, including donating a house, food, and a car to survivors of a fire in Beenleigh. He also hosted a buffet lunch for more than 600 disadvantaged people, the majority of whom were children and their families, on Christmas Day in 2012.
