‘We’re committed to securing custodial facilities nationwide’ – Correctional Service

The Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS, is dedicated to ensuring the security of all custodial facilities and the rehabilitation of inmates nationwide, according to Controller General Haliru Nababa. Speaking at a year-end event in Abuja, Haliru expressed appreciation for the hard work of the service’s personnel in 2023 and emphasized their continued commitment to fulfilling the mandate of reformation, rehabilitation, and reintegration of inmates.

The CG highlighted the service’s focus on tightening security within correctional facilities and ensuring the proper rehabilitation and reformation of inmates for successful reintegration into society. He stressed the importance of fostering an effective and sustainable system to enhance public safety and national security.

Additionally, Haliru underscored the paramount role of the officers and personnel in the service, emphasizing their continuous capacity improvement and welfare enhancement as crucial factors in achieving the service’s objectives.
